Each week I share books I’m reading, links I love, and more as a part of my Read 100 Challenge. I am always looking for new suggestions, so please leave a comment letting me know what you are reading!
Is anyone else really excited for the long weekend? My family and I will be meeting up with my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew for a camping trip in a nearby state park. We’re so excited! It will be our first time camping with little ones (our children are 6, 3, and 1). I would appreciate any tips that you can give!
Books I’m Reading This Week
The Insight: First Book of Athira by Owen Gabriel Danielson
I love young adult fantasy–there’s something about discovering new worlds that appeals deeply to me. This YA fantasy by Danielson did not disappoint. Themes of light and dark, good and evil, autonomy and submission all fell into place naturally in the unique world Danielson created. I will be doing a more thorough review next week, but for now suffice it to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this work of Orthodox young adult fiction.
Daily Rituals: How Artists Work by Mason Currey
Daily Rituals has been on my “To Read” list for quite awhile, ever since it was recommended by bloggers that I trust. As an aspiring writer, it is absolutely fascinating to read about the habits and daily routines of artists. Each chapter is short and features one artist and the routine (or sometimes lack thereof) that they kept. I look forward to finishing it next week.
Links I Love
Faith
The Real on St. John the Baptist Sylvia at The Adventures of an Orthodox Mom gives the fascinating history of St. John the Baptist, along with those who plotted his death.
Unaskable Questions Raising Saints has a moving and informative “Open Letter to Sunday School Teachers” from a mother of an autistic child. Excellent reading for anyone working with children.

What I’m Listening To This Week:
Make Over Your Mornings Course by Crystal Paine
I thought that I had a pretty good handle on my mornings, but I have learned so much from this course already–and I’m only on Day 7 of 14. If you want to start your day with purpose (which doesn’t mean just getting up super early and beginning the to-do list!), I highly recommend it! You can even download the first day for free and see if you want to purchase the entire course.
4 Essential Habits of Healthy Families Audio Course
I am in the midst of a food and exercise makeover in my life. This FREE audio course is giving me some great food for thought. I’ve been learning some fascinating facts about the importance of sleep that I didn’t know before; discovering tips for exercising on a budget; and am learning more about natural remedies. Great stuff! However, this course is only available until Sunday, September 6. Get yours now!!!

Thank you so much for featuring my post, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I’ve been a little behind with my reading this week, I think because my phone broke mid week and that’s where I do most of my reading. It’s fixed now so I’m just starting to catch up.

You’re very welcome! Some weeks are like that, aren’t they? I’m glad you got your phone fixed. I haven’t gotten into reading on my phone yet. I guess I’m still a little old fashioned 🙂
