Last week I shared with you that I was beginning to implement a new morning routine. I was pretty nervous about it because it involved getting up earlier than I have for a long time! However, I have been pleasantly surprised at how easily I have slid into this new routine.
Now, part of it may be the novelty of the whole thing. You know, at least for me, starting something new can seem exciting and fun. When the excitement wears off, though, you can see how well the habit has actually stuck.
For those of you who missed it, my new morning routine looks like this:
5:30
Up and in icon corner
Pray the complete Morning Prayers
Work on my book for 10 minutes
Put a load of laundry in the washer
6:00
Kids wake up and begin my old Morning Routine
I am definitely loving the quiet of the morning. I feel more centered after prayer, focused after writing, and productive after starting laundry. That’s a pretty good way to start the day!
