I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent a wonderful few days with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. We visited museums, went to parks, and ate ourselves silly. Altogether a successful Thanksgiving weekend!
This week I am have several big projects for school to finish up, so my goals reflect will reflect that. I also want to continue my practice of having a technology Sabbath one evening during the week. I have found it very relaxing and refreshing!
Last Week’s Goals:
Faith
1. Pray together as a family each day
2. Read 2 Peter
Family
3. Go on one small outing with Grandma and Aunt each day of their visit (museum, local petting zoo, park, farmer’s market, etc.)
4. Take pictures each day (I am REALLY bad at remembering to take pictures. However, I am going to try to put together a photo album of this year using Shutterfly–huge for me!–so I want more pictures.) Um, I think we took pictures each day, but this is by far all my husband’s doing!
Personal
5. Run 2 times
6. Get 30 minutes of introvert time a day (I am a definite introvert and tend to get overwhelmed and crabby if I don’t have some alone time each day. Usually this isn’t an issue, but when we’re with family I often feel guilty about taking time for myself. However, I know it will make me a better wife, mom, daughter, and sister if I do.) I went on a run, read in bed, and spent a little time working on the blog. All of these little moments of quiet helped me be able to interact with others better throughout the weekend.
This Week’s Goals
Spiritual
1. Pray prayers together as a family each day
2. Read I John
Professional
3. Grade 70 essays (Sigh. I love teaching, but grading essays is my least favorite part of the job!)

Family/ Homemaking
5. Catch up on laundry after guests
6. Play a game as a family
7. Celebrate the Feast of St. Nicholas (look for a post this week on ways to celebrate the saint!)
Personal

I love reading your goal updates, these are always very inspiring. We recently got family photos done (in October) and now just need one more pic for Christmas cards. Keep up the great work 🙂

We haven’t taken a family photo in a little while. We definitely need to do that!

You have great goals for this week! Good job on last week 🙂 70 essays would make me cringe, too. Haha. I like the no technology part. My hubby and I are trying to do the same. We stay so busy and a lot of it is our own fault for not prioritizing well. Good job also with EBA! It’s been tough to fit it in.

EBA has been fun, but I am definitely not going at the pace that many others are! I am SLOWLY going back and fixing my images, but I decided to continue with Unit 4 as that may be quite a process. How about you?
Jeniece says
I have rushed through it. I have changed so much but I think I finally like my colors and fonts. So I feel like I can go back and edit slowly. I also finally decided my optimal goal is to teach. So I’m learning about webinars and ecourses. I will probably start over when it starts up again.
Sarah says
I love the webinar and e-courses idea. Best of luck with that endeavor!

Fun to hear your updates – thanks for sharing!
Looking forward to hearing what you think of ” The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.” I read it recently and found some parts very inspiring/intriguing and some challenging culturally and religiously…anyway, can’t wait to hear what you think!
Also, I have found the pace of EBA super challenging (just finishing up Unit 2!), but find it comforting that you are going at a slower pace but still getting it done…thanks for the inspiration!

So far I am really wondering how The KonMari method can apply to a family with multiple children. It seems as though her methodology works great for a single person or married couple (which make up the majority of her client base), but I don’t know how practical the “tidy it once” policy works for a household with small children. We’ll see!
