This past week was a bit of a stressful one for me. My students took their state standardized test on Friday, which meant I hardly slept at all Thursday night! I love my students and know that we worked hard all year. I had confidence in them, but there is still a lot of pressure to perform. I was so proud of how wonderfully they did! It turns out that having a reading teacher who is slightly obsessed with reading is a really good thing. 🙂
My husband and I were also working hard to get him ready for a conference in Greece this week. He will be presenting at a theological conference and then travelling to Mount Athos (an island with a large number of Orthodox monasteries) for a few days. I am very excited for him!
Despite the busy week, I still managed to reach most of my goals.
Here are last week’s goals:
10 Weekly Goals
Spiritual:
1. Pray the Morning Prayers 5 Days as a family (We are getting much better at this!)
2. Read 8 chapters of the book of Romans
Professional:
3. Complete my Weekly Lesson Plans for next week
4. Relax after students take the state test on Friday! (My kids did great. Phew 🙂 )
Homemaking/Family:
5. Organize closet in master bedroom
6. Organize hall closet
7. Read 5 days to kids (picture books to Little Brother and Sister and a Magic Tree House book to Big Brother)
8. Go strawberry picking as a family
Personal:
9. Read 1 book (I’m keeping it simple this week. I will be starting Building A Better Teacher, which is pretty long.) (I actually didn’t finish Building A Better Teacher. I just couldn’t get into it and decided to abandon it. I did, however, finish two other books: Shadow and Belle Prater’s Boy. I highly recommend these young adult novels.)
10. Write a guest post for another blog. (I was excited to submit the post, and now I’m waiting to see if it will be accepted. I’ll be sure to let you know!)
