Our first week of vacation has been wonderfully filled and empty. It has been filled with fun and time with family in Texas, and empty of stress and commitments. Sometimes it is nice to have nothing on the calendar and just kick back and relax. (I didn’t even remember what day of the week it was most of the time–such a nice change from teaching during the school year and summer school!)
You can read more about somethings I Learned On Vacation and How to Have a Fun Family Vacation.
With all of this relaxation and fun, I didn’t accomplish everything on my weekly goals list, but I am ok with that. 🙂
Last Week’s Goals
Spiritual:
1. Morning Prayers 3 mornings (we often have a hard time doing this on vacation) We totally bombed this. Does anyone have any tips on retaining a semblance of routine with prayers while on vacation?
2. Read Galatians
Family:
3. Have a date night with my husband (Thanks to the generosity of grandparents!) We were having so much fun with family, that we decided to forgo a solo outing.
4. Make sure the kids get a rest time each afternoon
Personal:
5. Read 1 book (I have several along with me: So Good They Can’t Ignore You, The Namesake, The Dinner, and Twenties Girl. I’m trying to read some adult fiction now, since I read a lot of YA novels during summer school.) You can see what I read here.
6. Call 2 friends I haven’t seen in a long time and catch up
I guess that 4 out of 6 isn’t bad!
This Week’s Goals

1. Morning Prayers 3 Mornings (We’ll really try harder this week.)
2. Read Ephesians
Family:
3. Meet my nephew and see my brother and sister-in-law, whom I haven’t seen in over a year!
4. Make sure the kids have a rest time each day
Personal:
5. Read 1 Book (I am hoping to finish So Good They Can’t Ignore You and start Twenties Girl–it looks super cute and I love the decade!)
6. Exercise 2 times
What are your goals for the week?
