Happy Monday! As a teacher, the beginning of August always marks the end of summer for me. The turning of the page on the calendar brings a bit of sadness but also a great deal of excitement and anticipation for the coming school year.
This week will be a bit fragmented for me. We will be traveling back to Virginia on Monday and Tuesday. I’ll have Wednesday to rest, recover, do laundry, and get my house back in order. Then, I begin my professional development days on Thursday. Talk about a crazy week!
Because of that, I’m planning on keeping things simple this week on the goals front. I have come to understand that I don’t do well with transitions unless I have plenty of time to rest and relax. This has become an important part of my self-care recently. When I place expectations on myself that are just too difficult during these transition weeks, I quickly become frustrated and unpleasant to be around.
So, sometimes simple is best.
Here’s how I did on my goals last week.
