Friends, I am struggling today. One of my dearest friends is moving today, and I am quite sad. My friend Megan taught at the same school that I do and went to our church. She and her husband are the godparents of my daughter, and my husband and I are the godparents of their son. We have spent the past four years seeing each other nearly every day–at school, at church, on playdates, having dinner at each others’ houses, and more.
I will miss her.
All of this is making me reevaluate my goals. I want to make sure that I have a balanced life with enough time to enjoy my family, friends, and the small moments I often rush by. With my Type-A personality, it is so easy for me to focus on my to-do list at the expense of the relationships that really matter. And so I am going to include more relationship goals in my list each week–simply as a reminder to myself of my real priorities.
